Stumbled across what seemed to be an abandoned palace whilst wandering around Lisbon last week.

The Canadians appear to love their geese so much that they build them swimming pools.

A nice thing about jetlag when you are an owl, is that is it is one of the few times you get to experience the sunrise.

Beginning the final leg - the Vancouver > Nanaimo ferry. Only 14 hours after the first tram. Accidentally booked myself a senior ticket 🤪

Was talking about this story with my wife last night. First thing she said was, "Raynor's explanation doesn't add up as mortgage conveyancers won't normally offer tax advice". Why are these people such amateurs?

First leg of my epic journey for a pre-APSA visit to Vancouver Island University. Going to take Tram > Train > Flight > Metro > Bus > Ferry. So, a full house of transport options.

So... I'm guessing "Dogger" does not mean in the US what it means in the UK*

Although it does seem like pretty much anything is allowed in US presidential campaigns these days.

*I do not advise googling it.

This turned out to be more straightforward than I had expected...

I finally snaffled a shot of the yaffle. After 6 years of being too slow or too far away, I captured the @goetheuni.bsky.social campus woodpecker on camera. He kept dancing around the trunk, out of sight then peering back around at me, like a game of hide and seek.

What is the point of Labour if it is taking inspiration from actual fascists? Even if this is tongue in cheek, the situation in the US is not some joke, and a serious government shouldnt be making ironic references to it.

There seems to be much more demand for sunset photos than my political musings. Though that's a bit worrying for my career, fortunately I do love taking pictures of sunsets. So here's another timeline cleanser.

Popcorn sunset at Laguna Beach, 5th February 2025.

This is what Google Maps looks like from outside the US. Has to be one of the funniest uses of brackets in history. How long before the Republicans ban parentheses?

David Miliband always was a snappy dresser. The long sojourn in America seems to have aged him horribly though.

You can say what you like about footballers' salaries. But you do have to admit they do some important community work. Here is Harry Kane, for example, showing the Germans where to put their eye moisturiser.

So you made a nice two-by-two of your ideas. Well, I see your two-by-two and raise you a two-by-two within a two-by-two 🤯

You can still easily make out the boundary of the old city on the modern map because they turned the city walls/Lisa's hair into a park that rings the Innenstadt

Had a great trip to Frankfurt. A nice reminder that, when you make deep connections, leaving is always an "Auf Wiedersehen" rather than a "Goodbye".

Will miss having this view everyday though.
