Today was one of the hardest debates to listen to in the House of Lords as they discussed an amendment to change the word dying to suicide.

My Mum was dying, she did not want to die. Terminally ill people are dying, they do want to die. The use of the word suicide is cruel and wrong.

A reminder of who this bill is for.

It is only for those with a terminal diagnosis of six months or less to live and who have the mental capacity to make a clear and settled choice. The lords must remember this and keep it in mind during these discussions.
