I'm not 100% sure what the amiibo does here. All Metroid series amiibo (besides Prime 4 amiibo), and Super Smash Bros. Metroid character amiibo have the same functionality. I can't read Japanese, but I guess the amiibo basically gives us a random noise in the game?

To be fair, I've only been on here for a year haha. I recognise you from twitter too. I also have an Instagram account, so I'm pretty much on multiple social media sites for a bigger reach :D

I'm still waiting for my copy. Amazon UK thought it was a good idea to have mine dispatch a week later, so I'll have to wait until Wednesday. They're bad with pre-orders, yet they're the only retailer selling it for my country.

I was expecting the marketing to pick up this month. We've already seen that Nintendo have hidden two videos, so what's the hold up? It feels like Nintendo is holding back for some reason.

Unfortunately in recent years people have started backtracking and making contradictions. They now claim his inclusion in Fusion was "shoehorned" in, and every time he's added to a game, he takes away from other villains - both statements are false. He's added for fan appeal, important for the brand

*Since Metroid Samus Returns was released BEFORE the Ridley amiibo, the Ridley amiibo was not compatible with that game. Nintendo didn't update the game to add the compatibility either. However, both games had all (at their respective times) Metroid themed amiibo compatible.

The remaining games for the year are Kirby Air Riders and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Obviously the Ridley amiibo will not work with Kirby Air Riders (why would it). Given how previous Metroid games have had compatibility with all Metroid themed amiibo*, I would assume Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will.

The Ridley amiibo seems to be compatible with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. While the details about what the amiibo will unlock are unknown at this point in time, given compatibility with previous Hyrule Warrior games, I would guess it would have a similar effect here.
