Some local leaders disagree on how to define what an "American" company is.

For West Mifflin Mayor Chris Kelly, "American" means "the melting is going to be done by Americans."

For Pleasant Hills Councilmember Cheryl Freedman, "American" is owning 51%+ of the company.

President Trump, who said he has final say on a deal, first announced the partnership by saying U.S. Steel would remain in America, with U.S. Steel then coming out with a statement saying the company would remain "American."

They expect it will take 5-7 days until everyone has power back, barring damage from further storms.

That's not to say people could get power back sooner. They are focused on critical infrastructure first.

"A lot ot of people, from what we're hearing, were just loosely vetted and that they were undercutting American workers," said Ashley Duff, chair of the Washington County Republican Party.

The same group tried to “cause trouble” inside a smoke shop on Liberty Ave. The owner ran them out, police said.

We spoke to an employee at the shop who said the kids were throwing PRT bus schedules around.
