If the Bulls are to be considered a remotely serious team, they need to go 6-1 on this stretch.

Currently the only team above .500 with a negative point-differential. They did pretty well surviving some tough games without Coby, but it won't mean anything if they blow the easy ones.

How it feels to watch the Chicago Bulls

And here's a possession of Flagg scoring on Queen late. Also includes an awesome Flagg outlet pass that gave the Mavs a bucket on the previous possession. Career high 29 points for Flagg, was excellent in the fourth quarter.

Derik Queen giving buckets to his old high school teammate Cooper Flagg. Flagg isn't stopping all that.

Not the best half from Matas, but two nice takes at the end of the second quarter. He's so good in transition, and that's a very nice lefty drive + finish.

Pumped to be in the gym for Illinois vs. Alabama at the United Center. Feels like a Sweet 16 game in November.

Big Z getting loose. One of many weapons on this Illini team

Ayo Dosunmu, questionable to play with hamstring tightness entering the night, with three games in the next five days looming: 21 points and 5 assists on 8/9 shooting, finishes +25 in 26 minutes to beat Denver.

Buzelis with another D. Wade windmill crossover, very cool that this is part of his bag. Will probably be the only Bulls highlight tonight so might as well post it.

Mikel Brown looked excellent last night. The top freshmen continue to deliver early in the season.

This is a good point on the early strength of schedule ratings from @blogabull.com. I kinda think they can get fat on the many tanking teams later in the season, but that does not mean they're actually good

The Bulls have played the NBA’s hardest strength of schedule so far. They have the NBA’s easiest strength of schedule the rest of the season. A 6-4 start without Coby and Collins is damn good.

This might be the best defensive possession of Giddey's career. Multiple efforts on different types of players, all with a bum ankle after getting crossed over into the shadow realm. Even a skeptic like me has to respect it.

It brings me no joy to see Loyola lose as a 22-point favorite to Mercyhurst, but it is a little enjoyable to see they were whacked by a 5'11 guard named Bernie Blunt III, the game's leading scorer with 27 points

There are lots of encouraging stats about the Bulls' offense in here, yet they are only No. 22 on that end. Here's how I'm thinking about it:

The Bulls have a cool homegrown young guy who is actually good. It's Matas season.

I swear Josh Giddey gets blocked harder than any player in the league. Ausar Thompson getting to him to start the season.

Rico’s Fresh Market will not be intimidated after ICE dropped tear gas outside my grocery store a week ago today. Get these fuckers out of our city.

I cannot possibly waste the next four years of my life watching Josh Giddey's fuckass floater. This is not real basketball

Nothing else going on in Chicago sports right now, so here's a Matas dunk
