Since I had to reschedule my knee shots 2 weeks ago and because there is a strike at Kaiser, I got reassigned to the Sports Med dept for today's shots. Stepping off the elevator at Mission Bay into that dept was like Dorothy seeing Oz in color. That floor is colorful and modern and sexy!

Well, it's not all bad for me. This week has been very challenging at work and with pain, but I scored fresh out of the fryer chicken tenders at Safeway on the way home. I'll take the wins where I can get them! 😂

In addition to the issues I'm having with my hands and knees, I'm also still looking for a new apartment. There are two that would work really well for me, and I'll be applying to them both in the coming days. This is all so exhausting for me.

Just tried to open a jar of salsa and I can't even manage that today. I can't wait to find out what is wrong with my hands. And now I need to go find one of those rubber grippy things so I can get jars opened.

For dinner today I am eating the ice cream I got the other day. Not great, I know, but I'm barely hanging on right now. Between the stress of apartment hunting and the pain in my knees (and now my hands) I'm just not functioning this weekend.

This week has just about done me in, and today was so stressful I had to stop and get ice cream on the way home. Ben & Jerry's "PB Over the Top" should do the trick. Cannot wait to get shots in my knees on Tuesday.

Just spent 40 minutes listening to "Upstairs at Eric's" from 1982 and I'm feeling so nostalgic. I spent many hours dancing to this music in the mid-80s. Boy do I miss being able to do that these days.

Just got a notice that power is out in my neighborhood AGAIN and they are projecting a 7 PM restoration time. I am beginning to think PG&E is doing this on purpose.

Because my entire psyche is frazzled right now, I looked around for something good to watch when I get home from work. Turns out MeTV started airing the original Hawaii 5-0 this week, so I've been recording it each day. That is EXACTLY what I needed.

Wow, just saw my dream apartment is still being listed. They could have had a signed lease with me by now, but I guess they really don't want me. That is so discouraging.

Very strange power outage at my building. It's like minimal power is getting through. Thanks so much Pacific Gas and Electric Company, again. You SUCK!

Currently watching "Atomic Blonde" and I hafta say Charlize Theron has never been a sexier badass than in this movie. Also the whole cast is great and the late-80s soundtrack is magnificent. Highly recommend it!

It's finally a dry day here and I was supposed to do laundry, but my knees had other ideas. Currently icing them and resting. Guess I overdid it at work this week.

Got off work an hour early (yay, after the 2 days I just had) and was craving spicy pumpkin curry from the Thai place across the street. They were closed, so I made myself pasta and sauce for dinner instead and it hit the spot. Now to watch "The Trouble with Angels."

Well, my building at work is still dark. Not too hopeful for power today. At least the Opera House and Davies Symphony Hall have power and their shows are going on as scheduled.

Power is still out around my office, so most staff and tenants are being told to stay home. I'll go in to have someone at the desk and help how I can. PG&E and the City set up generators at the Opera House, but my building is still dark. Gonna be an interesting Monday.

Saw that SF Ballet cancelled tonight's 7PM Nutcracker because of the power outage. Decided to check my voicemails since I get calls for our campus and I have 15 so far. Monday is gonna be so busy for me.

Managed to get a mixed load of laundry done today and it just brought home how perfect that apartment would have been for me. I'm still upset I didn't get it and now I feel like I'll be stuck climbing stairs forever. No holiday cheer for this guy.

On my way home from looking at places this morning, I stopped to get an egg and cheese bagel at House of Bagels for lunch. They are closing for 3 months of renovations 14 Dec so I had to stock up. My freezer will be full for a bit. 😂

Well, the power of postive thoughts didn't work this time and I didn't get my dream apartment. It was perfect for me and I am crushed. I feel like such a loser today.

Watching my first Christmas movie of the season: Fitzwilly! It's my favorite Dick Van Dyke movie, and he is joined by Barbara Feldon, a young Sam Waterston, and Dame Edith Evans (who is always worth watching!). Just a fun, silly heist movie set during the holidays.
