It's interesting how Toy Story had some mean-spiritedness, embodied by the other toys falling over Buzz and subsequently trying to execute (?) Woody. The sequels didn't inherit it but the DreamWorks movies did.

That's sadly a sign of anime writing decaying, with every new anime being inspired by a successful manga and no courage to make changes even to fix continuity errors or beta design left in the early chapters. Sailor Moon OG vs Crystal is a pretty effective example of that.
