Reconciliation was never really a thing, thanks to President Johnson. I understand your point, but I just don't think more hatred solves centuries of hatred. We are all people endowed with the same rights. It will not happen in my lifetime, but I hope my ancestors can find a path to mutual respect.

And therein lies the problem for future reconciliation and mutual respect. We have been a bigoted country since our founding but we refused to see it. When we confront our bigotry we will be able to heal it. Hate is not a remedy for hatred.
