@mrjamesob.bsky.social We should be talking about Universal Basic Income. This country is a wealthy nation. It can afford to do this. It also puts the power back into the hands of its citizens. There are very few downsides. Mostly the super wealthy whose control on resources will diminish.

This book is a good reference. A bit dry at first but covers every possibility.

Chapters 4 and 5 go into the many aspects of taxation and the many aspects of the economy that need adjusting to make UBI work. I have found this book very enlightening.

a very comprehensive and compelling argument for UBI. Taking into account all possible effects on taxes, welfare programmes and workforce impacts.

Companies House, as I am on the Housing Association as a director, means I use .gov log-in, I have to go through picture ID matching to the scan of my passport, use my phone to scan Passport chip to double-check my biometrics. If he is a director of a limited company, he would also have to do this.
