Excellent thread on the #MentalHealth review announced today. I hope @drsarahhughesceo.bsky.social is right but I fear we will still have a limbo around MH
People keep asking: “Why another mental health review?”

Our own major report already shows rising prevalence, deepening distress, and a system stretched to breaking.

‘They could have got someone for £50k’. No they couldn’t! Why do people (particularly on the right) get so het up about senior management salaries. Who would (and could) run a council for £50k. Nonsense - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Interesting thing to announce in #Lincolnshire. I put in the #CareAct for the council in 2014 and it was always supposed to be strength based. It was at its heart. So what changed? Service creep, or is this really a way to make savings. Will watch with interest www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

#NHSEngland has published its new Adult #Neurology Services specification. Our CEO contributed feedback on behalf of the #InflammatoryNeuropathies community earlier this year, here's his view on the spec:

This is one of the things that people who have had #GuillainBarreSyndrome talk about most. It’s also one of the things that we need to look into and research. While it unlikely to come back, the #fear of #GBS returning is all to real for many people in the #InflammatoryNeuropathies community.
With so much physical damage from #GuillainBarreSyndrome, it can be easy to overlook the emotional impact of #GBS. It helps to talk:

People I work with are really scared about what’s happening with #PIP and #WelfareReforms. There’s a thread about it over T @inflamneurouk.bsky.social
We are keeping an eye on the ongoing discussions in parliament this afternoon and tomorrow. Our CEO, Rich, has read through the statement released by government earlier on this afternoon, and here are his initial thoughts.

#PIP #WelfareReforms

Additional investment into #EmploymentSupport announced as part of the statement on #WelfareReform. No details (apart from numbers) and it will need to be incredibly high quality, knowledgable, and specialist (which it isn’t at the moment). Said all this in the consultation but guess no one read it
June 30, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Just read through the government’s statement on #WelfareReform. Nothing new in there, and the changes proposed are really just of bit of gloss. People will still be pushed into poverty by this and the amount of stress and heartache its causing to people is horrific

We all know that birds are nesting at this time of year, so why on earth are people cutting back trees. This is the only bit of wild greenery we have really close by. If you need it cut back, wait until autumn. So annoying #Environment #UrbanWildlife
