I really enjoyed this SME. The interview prompt I chose was where GPT interviewed me like I died a while ago. The questions they asked were very strange and it felt like I was trying to answer different made up dreams. #yousoundfamiliar

My favorite question and response was:

Was that you, on the edge of the diving board in Tucson—no, Cleveland—telling someone you would never leave that city, even though you already had? What did the air smell like that night, and who was holding the towel? #SMEno1fav

I really enjoyed reading the four chapters of Reality Hunger. The reading kind've felt like a jigsaw puzzle with all the paragraphs being different pieces. #realityhunger

I love this quote. Memory is never going to be 100% clear. #realityhunger

I think memory will always be swayed by emotion. If you think back to a moment in your life you are going to remember your feelings at that time first. #realityhunger

This is interesting because if you can't recall something in your life, how do you know what actually happened? #realityhunger

For 158, my song would be Beautiful Day by U2. #realityhunger

Again, I think this is up for debate. #realityhunger

I don't agree that only the truth is funny. Sometimes the funniest things don't actually exist. #realityhunger

This is what makes this reading so fun. A small two word paragraph that just makes you think. It doesn't really relate to the paragraphs around it but still is valuable. #realityhunger

I'm so confused as to what this means? #realityhunger

Does he actually say "What key" in the song? That's amazing. #realityhunger

I really enjoy the type of collage where it takes images and you have to figure out a message or phrase using each image as clues. #realityhunger

I think literature can also be a discovery of the truth. There's no way to share science without writing it down first. #realityhunger

What makes a historical event important? There's so much history that is unknown. #realityhunger
February 14, 2026 at 7:13 PM
The more time that goes on from an event, can lead to wrong or even part-fictional accounts of a situation. #realityhunger

I like how each paragraph or every few lines are split and numbered. It makes reading this a lot more manageable. #realityhunger

The way I interpret this quote is that even in a fictional novel or piece of media, the character might not be real but the things they say can still be true or important to us in real life. #realityhunger
February 14, 2026 at 7:03 PM
I like the quote "the lure and blur of the real". I think we are more excited when we hear something is real and nonfiction but we never really know what parts are actually true. #realityhunger

Even in fiction, the creator is bringing some sort of their reality into their work. #realityhunger

My primary takeaway from this video in relationship to SME 1 is that we don't have to follow word-for-word the meta prompts. We can do the interviews in our own unique style. #primarytakeaway

Joe's opinion of co-thinking and co-creating with LLMs in 209 is that we should experiment with the LLMs. He talked about how we could add ourselves to any movie. Even though Joe mentions LLMs have a lot of unknowns we should still play around with them. #joesopinion

Joe's explanation of "You are a helpful assistant" is useful for us in 209 because when using LLM's we have the power to guide the LLM. We can tell it to put us in a situation and it will listen. Even though we can't control the LLM we can lead in certain directions. #helpfulassistant

New LLMs still have unknowns to them. #joeandashley

You cannot ask a LLM to not use certain language. #joeandashley
