He/him. Former academic nomad (west coast, east coast). Now happily settled in Minnesota. 2 great kids.
No personal responsibility and also no examination of what people with same thinking did before.

Like, I feel continuity with progressive Dems from before my time, try to build on what they did and correct their mistakes. Can't talk to people who think history started in 2016.

There are a bunch of people who love saying "Dems tried nothing and they're out of ideas".
The same people have tried one thing (blaming every ill on Dems and telling people not to vote) for 25+ years and done nothing but harm.
Toddler is the best word. Perpetual toddlers.

There were a bunch of posts like
This action (by someone else) will inspire the normies (but not me) to do something! (that I could have already been doing but I wasn't and I won't!)

The people who shout the most know the least and say the grossest stuff

There's One Weird Trick to end politics forever but Dems Won't. Even. Try.

This isn't really that unusual from a psychology perspective but it tells you how to argue with those people. If they say "mayor Pete said X" the answer is not "here's the actual context of his statement" it's "the people who made up this claim are manipulating you".

The charts clearly show a shitload of people in the center of the Dem coalition voting for someone to their own left, potentially far to their own left

I'm not intending to say my kid's a genius or that Herbert's childish. I think if you start with a few cool creative ideas and shake them together in a bag then other cool stuff comes together naturally. (My kid is smart and kind though.)

One could say Dems and GOP were weak against Trump's threat in 2016 due to choices made in decades leading up. But the lol Dems suck crowd did fuck-all during those decades to steer Dem party to be stronger.

Trump was selected the way a pathogenic bacteria is selected. He and others arrived at same time with different traits. GOP had no resistance to what he was and he outcompeted the other strains, I mean candidates

I suspect the teleprompter reading part of his brain retains the most function and they're prepping for the time when they can't let him talk off the cuff at all

The Left assuming a permanent state of war has locked in the status quo and simultaneously defines Frey support as illegitimate while letting his voters off the hook. They are OK with status quo and they're a (bare) majority! Also they're Dem voters and deserve baseline level of respect as people!

Given no power to reign in the police or help the homeless he has failed to reign in the police or help the homeless

One could argue he serves the interests of people who vote for him a bit too much, like 70/30 instead of 60/40, but the hate for him is out of all proportion

There is a difference between a single anonymous voter and a state senator who was elected as a Democrat. He made a choice and he owns the consequences.
