Big picture: community structure of C. elegans connectome and an "effectome" derived from insane stimulation experiments (see shorturl.at/vYEDZ) are poorly aligned (except for pharynx, oddly).

Lastly, we show that CAP rate -- how frequently SCAN activity "bursts" above some threshold -- is modulated by limb immobilization. Something about casting your arm for an extended period of time (a crazy strong perturbation) changes the dynamics. 8️⃣

We also examine time-varying properties, like coactivation patterns and instantaneous connectivity. We find evidence of six CAPs that are (broadly) shared across individuals, but refined at the participant level. 6️⃣

The network mapping technique we use usually only allows for each vertex to be assigned to a single network. But if we relax this criterion to allow for overlapping network labels, SCAN is positioned as a hub of network overlap -- all the sensorimotor and action networks converge onto it. 5️⃣
