I just learned that a theater once very important in my life – the AMC at the Franklin Mills mall – closed early this year. The corporation that ran it notwithstanding, I'm sad. Memories (both good and bad), friends, you name it. The last movie I saw there was KINYARWANDA.

This movie played last night at a mystery 35mm show, and thanks to my decades of investment in @mst3kofficial.bsky.social, I was able to identify it within about five seconds/three bars of music—if you want to know what winning at life looks like.

There are many tremendous images in John Carpenter's filmography. This is one of my favorites (although not the best of this movie).
