I should've known better. I agreed to push my final date at this company out to just before Christmas Eve. They repay me by telling me that since I am leaving I don't get a year end bonus (which is being issued on Monday) I've been in the industry long enough to know better (1/?)

While we're at it's since it's been a minute since l've posted one of these reminders: If you offer someone an alcoholic beverage this season (or really anytime) and they decline? You MAY offer them a nonalcoholic beverage instead. You MAY NOT say "Oh come on, it's just one." Or "It's the holidays, lighten up and get in the mood." Or "I made these just for the party, you can't even taste the alcohol!" Or "What are you the DD tonight?" No one owes you an explanation for their sobriety. No one needs to consume alcohol to exist in a space. No one's needs to consume alcohol for your friendship and the camaraderie of their community. Even if it's someone you KNOW drinks regularly, drop it. The holidays can be triggering enough for folks. No one needs to be harassed and abused because they choose to be sober for a night, a weekend, or a lifetime.

One of my favorite things is to immaturely chuckle at common phrases in our industry. Like "Jacking Reports" for steel poles or a presentation called "Helicopter Erection".

Sometimes though I feel like they aren't even trying for a hint of subtlety like on this concrete pole drawing

In the year 2025 there is absolutely no excuse for companies not to provide quality headsets to their employees. We have a large client and everyone of their office folks have the worst mics for calls. It's bad when field guys have better setups.

Every ornament a gift, or a memory keepsake of a year, trip, event. 39 years of life represented with ornaments starting with baby's first. Ill take chaos memory trees over "clean theme" ones any day of the week. Still need to finish cleaning so I cam finish decorating
Christmas tree with lights on that also project onto the walls. There is a train and multiple statues amd stuffed decorations under the tree. Christmas tree in daylight without lights on. Ornaments are visible. No theme. Close up of Baby's First Ornament from 1986. It is a star on a cloud with a duck, santa, teddy and stocking hanging from it. Various Christmas decorations have invaded my bar and coffee table.
