I took my girlfriend to see it at the cinema about 10 years ago. She enjoyed the film until McGann's line, "Who's the huge spade in the bath?" She shrunk into her seat and went silent. They could have cut those few seconds leaving the film unaffected. She was black. Spoilt the film for all of us.

I have watched several of his talks and interviews. He comes across as extremely intense with an eccentric speaking manner. It is quite common for people with autism spectrum disorder to have unusual and obsessive beliefs.
