There's probably more who feel the same way as you - our group started with two people trying to organise one event

So we kindly ask that you follow and share this page to help raise awareness, let us know of any groups doing similar work and if you know of any landowners in Conamara with rhododendron on their land looking for help!

Oh, and keep an eye out for Green Drinks!

The goal is to help raise awareness, tackle the issue and work with other interested parties to help move the dial on invasive species in Galway!

If we can get it right here, we can do it anywhere!

We formed in 2020 to tackle this problem!

Volunteers on the ground removing rhodo for free - We since have started to target old woodlands as we have a light touch (hand tools) which help protect woodlands & organisations such as Dúlra are actively targeting rhodo in peatlands (Great work!)

Rhododendron ponticum is a non-native invasive plant that was introduced as ground cover for gamebirds in estates and has since caused havoc in Ireland as its toxic to herbivores and grows vigorously!

Here's a video from Cork!

Look at that wall of Rhododendron.

There seems to be a few farmers looking for this - but no real options available!

I know a few who would completely change tomorrow if they were given a good plan and deal!
