Our chickens used to think that we controlled the weather, and would get distinctly miffed with us if there was too much rain for their sensibilities. (In addition to the usual how-dare-you-be-out-in-the-garden-and-not-giving-me-treats.)

That's very sad. I'm sorry you've been through such a rough time of it. :(

Eh, you never know. My ex and my mother still have a friendly acquaintance, though our breakup was a lot more amicable than I think yours was, and likewise I've had occasional cordial-in-passing interactions with his sister. Give it time to let things settle.

I think the bat is charming. A little disproportionate, perhaps - the wings would want to be somewhat bigger relative to the body - but it has a delightful little face. :D

What a lovely cat - and what a nice rug, too! :D

Well, the cat looks rather charming in that photo (in a fangular and vaguely piratical way), so if that's a bad photo, I'm sure the good ones must be dynamite. :D

(For those whose French is a little rusty, it reads: Never forget that a single political, economic or religious crisis can be enough to put women's rights into jeopardy. These rights are never truly obtained. You must stay vigilant your whole lives.)

Oh, definitely. I thought I was pretty cynical, but that thing where, during the pandemic, homelessness in the UK just plummeted, and now it's pretty much back to pre-pandemic levels... well, I wasn't being cynical enough. So much suffering in the world is treated as inevitable when it isn't.

Might you consider, rather than trying to obtain one item that is 'all things to all men', doing a bit of cobbling things together? Which is to say, putting, idk, a lead disk or a bunch of lead weights in the bottom of the plant pot, or something else that's very dense, so it's bottom-heavy?

I tend to do a fair bit of buying art in greetings-card format because a) I am skint, but b) so pretty. Here are some I particularly like. www.nicolaslattery.com/greeting-car... gyotakugifts.co.uk/collections/... www.lilygreenwood.com/category/cards
