I’m working on finishing up a covariant field theory that models a new way to think about the MW halo. It doesn’t involve DM particles at all, but an activation regime of quantum vacuum stiffness. Here’s a peak at a rough graphical representation of the “Qvion” halo vs. DM NFW-like.

In principle not ruled out, I really hope for it to happen, but it is unlikely and every time I've tried thus far it didn't work out.
