I could just about list all my g-g-grandparents and get back ten generations in one branch (18th C ancestor who wrote about slavery) - but that still leaves an awful lot of my ancestors I have no idea about who
they were and where that came from. I’m quite happy being a mongrel

I remember (sketchily) from Adam Rutherford that if you were alive in Europe in the 9th century and have any living descendants then you are the ancestor of everyone of European heritage alive today. You don’t have to go too far back for that statistic to go global …

The only thing his callous honesty does is to show up the hypocrisy of ‘thoughts & prayers’: those 2 students deaths mean nothing to him: they’re just statistics incidental to the operation of the 2nd amendment
