We told them straight off it was that! But as the car started the first time for them & they don't seem to have tested it twice, they assumed I was just a stupid woman panicking over nothing, and focussed on the REAL crisis I didn't ask about, the bloody dashboard light. GRRRR!

battery for nothing, ignoring what I took the damn car in for in the first place. He also said he'd be telling his friends (he knows a LOT of people) not to use that garage again. Their practices are unsafe & they frankly don't give a crap.

I'm exhausted. 😆

Car now happy as a clam & starting without a problem. Dad also sending the 3rd mechanic's condition report to the first lot, telling them letting it leave there unrepaired meant I could have got stranded again in the dark that night, because they'd said there was nothing wrong & sold us a £200 new

They were no help at all, so Dad tried another garage nearby but they were full up for Xmas. Last resort he rang ANOTHER mechanic, who did all the family cars for years. Came over next day, got it moving & took it back to his garage. In 5 mins he found the starter was bust & fitted a new one. 😠

Oh it was a fiasco. 🙄 Dad went in next morning for an explanation, & they said 1) they didn't have a licence to drive cars off the premises so couldn't test it running (which is bull since they only needed to TURN IT ON to see if it started), & 2) their 'machine' told them it was the battery'.

That's amazing! 😎 I don't think any of my signatures go back that far, let alone in the same line (not jealous at all *cough*) but now I have to investigate mine!

At least you've narrowed it down to the right part of the country! 👍

Would love to read it but apparently you now have to log in and be age verified on that site. Pity, I'd like to have read the update.

Could it be Clovelly in Devon? The sign on the left looks like it has a 'Clov' on it.

The lady and gent on the left don't look too happy! Maybe a couple having a spat? 😄

What a nice lady! Rubbish that she isn't yours though! 😆
