As many in the Bard community are aware, a Bard College student was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after appearing for a scheduled interview at the New York Asylum Office.

As many in the Bard community are aware, a Bard College student was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after appearing for a scheduled interview at the New York Asylum Office. The College has joined the Episcopal Diocese of New York and Human Rights First in calling for the student’s release. President Botstein has mobilized federal and state elected officials at the highest levels in New York and New Jersey to assist with this case. “It is my hope that he will be able to return to Bard and resume his studies as soon as possible,” he said.
