Yes that is extraordinarily messed up. My dad is an OG bill gates hater, so I have always been pretty skeptical about big tech companies. The lengths they go to justify their BS.

Dude this is a tiny suburb. In Texas. There’s so much BS going on in our county, our state, the local ISD. Before Christine, we spent buckets of money fighting for a minor tax cut because that’s what some tea party dudes wanted. When Christine got elected, local politics became boring again.

Look, I live in Texas. I cannot leave at the moment, and I take what I can get of politicians that make local politics boring AF and do not care to pick battles with local libraries or public transit and will support our local pride events despite everything. Most of our GOP candidates run unopposed

AFAIK Christine was a moderate who endorsed both democratic and republican city council members. She was a good reasonable mayor after a previous crazy guy who sold our water to a nearby town (we have serious water issues). Leander and Williamson county are swing after many years of being deep red.

Current leanderthal here. Williamson county went blue in 2020, but flipped back in 2024. One of the candidates for mayor was kicked out of the Republican Party for conduct, and keeps running for everything. Still shocked it went 57% to Na’cole. Happy though.
