One class. As part of Tampa’s rich labor history, in April, 1899 the workers at the Ybor-Manrara cigar factory struck against the use of scales to weigh tobacco for each cigar. Here, the multi-national staff of the 'Economic Kitchen’ which cooked meals for workers’ families during the conflict.

In the early 1930s the 'Festival of Struggle' replaced the 4th of July in Great Lakes communities where the largely Finnish Communist Party had strongholds. If you know Ishpeming today, it is inconceivable that it could have ever hosted such an event, and yet for years it did.
