The remaining 2 palettes were reserved for items and ui/font so the #mega65 version has 8 times as many colors with greater color depth compared to the #amiga version.
Not bad for an 8bit machine!!

On the #mega65 you can mix full color mode (256 colors) and nibble color mode (16 colors with 16 palettes) on the same screen. @henning_art converted the graphics so walls and floors use 128 colors, enemies and the player get 16 colors each.
