Absolutely fantastic. Its a classic and for good reason. Half the time I kept forgetting it was made in 1982 and then I remembered it was and I became even more impressed at it. Also helps I watched it at around christmas by sheer coincidence

Yes it absolutely is but its also incredibly sincere. I love it so much and a martial arts story but with giant robots is such an inspired idea. Go watch it!!

Saw it in cinemas and got very lucky to have a good nuisance free audience. The tension and dread holds up quite well and Cushing nails Victor's descent.
Also odd takeaway but seeing a film of this era makes REs inspiration so much clearer
