I think an example of it would be how we treated our teachers as kids.
I know I didn't even recognised teachers as having a life OUTSIDE of school. It's only till I became an adult with my job, bills, etc, did the realisation of the humanity and similar experiences around me!

It's one of those funny things as you get older, get more life experience. You just slowly understand things better. It's not a eureka moment but just a subtle change of; this aint that bad!
