Thank you to the government class from Kettle Run High School for visiting me here on Capitol Hill. If you know of a class who would like to visit, please contact my office. The White House might be closed for tours due to “renovations” but the Capitol is still open.

Did you know that the government funding bill has a provision that forces the DOJ to give millions in taxpayer money to at least 8 Republican Senators investigated after the Jan 6 insurrection? Not exaggerating. And when I proposed an amendment last night to stop it, House Republicans voted it down.

House Republicans and this administration are out of touch with what the American people want—lower costs and affordable health care. We need bipartisanship to end this shutdown.

The real life impacts of this government shutdown are about to be felt across the country, but House Republicans still won’t do their job and come to work to negotiate.
