I got to try out the Stalvaggar Knight character and somehow got the killing blow on the second boss (my front liner definitely felt the support so thanks to all on Table 1!). If you have an interest in Soulsborne games, or just like a grimdark setting, Doomspiral is one to keep an eye on!

Day 29: Most Anticipated Game

It may be a little early but after Expedition 33, whatever Sandfall Interactive bring next. But for something more concrete, (and one just around the corner) - FBC Firebreak is Remedy Entertainments next game. Hoping that they can marry the 1/

Day 28 - Favourite Genre

You can tell we are reaching the end of these - the prompts are becoming more generic ...

Is it a cop out to say I don't particular have one? Recent games I've played and will come back to include Crime Scene Cleaner, Sea Of Stars, 1/

Day 27: Favourite Series Exclusive Species

Well, I do think this prompt is a little oddly worded but going with series specific, I'm going with the Minions from the Overlord games. I'd love to see this series return with a entry as the last couple have been lacklustre but 1/

I think overall though Resident Evil remains my favourite series
It was the series that got me back into video gaming, the series that properly got my wife into gaming. While I'm not overly keen on where the series is currently, there's enough nostalgia to keep this up for now 2/

Day 26: Favourite Series

Hmm - so do series with only 2 games count? (Cos Octopath Traveller, Far, Defense Grid, Control, Portal, Destiny ...). Also impressive are how many series started well and then really had something bad (Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Batman Arkham) 1/

Day 25 Favourite supporting or side character

Going back aways on this one but I have a soft spot for Kasumi from the Mass Effect. It helped that she was one of the few companions who didn't go unconscious while I was playing through 1/

world and themes.
2nd honourable mention to Split/Second Velocity. Composer Marc Canham came up with a score that adapts in real time to the action in game and matches the tempo and feeling. 3/3

out of the park - the music so important that the storyline post game continues in concert form!
1st honourable mention to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The story of composer Lorien Testard and how he became involved in this game is wonderful and 150+ tracks for the game all consistent with the 2/3

Day 24 - Best OST

I mean, how do I pick? So many good options out there. However, let's pick one and a couple of honourable mentions. Best OST as of the moment would I think be NieR: Automata. Keiichi Okabe (composer) and MONACA (music production) absolutely knock it out 1/3

the extras available in the Gold Edition). The game ultimately didn't live up to the hype but the devs were invested into the game and there was a lot of post release support and content, and I have some great memories of playing that game

Day 23 - First Preorder

I'm generally not a fan of pre-orders. However, there have been one or times where I have relented on this where I knew that purchasing the game made sense for me at that point
The Division was the first of these for a few reasons (none related to 1/

Day 22: Favourite In Game Quote

“I Think We Can Put Our Differences Behind Us. For Science. You Monster.”

Honestly I think I could have picked almost any line from Glados across Portal 1 or 2. The delivery is spot on pretty much the entire time.

can have their own spin. Folks, I present to you Warframe. The basic models are all the same but the colour choice, armor charms, syaldanas (flowing items) is very customisable. So much that there is a full 'Fashion Frame' side game for those who want it

Day 21: Best Character Customisation

There are a plethora of good character creators in rpg's but I'm going to take a sideways look at this and pick a multiplayer game where knowing what the rest of your random public squad members can do at a glance is needed but each 1/

Day 19: Favourite Mechanic

I'm a sucker for any game that allows the protagonist(s) to glide across the land. See Nier: Automata, Haven, Expedition 33, Atlas Fallen, Journey ...

I think this one is just me was the Guardians of the Galaxy team huddle. It's a decent game, certainly better than Avengers which came out around the same time and the deserved negative comments for that I think impacted GOTG. But the team huddle mechanic, to get a boost for the time, I just 3/

for me is the asteroid shooting segment in Dead Space. The remake may have improved this but the original section with the random instakills getting to the turret and the imbalance of movement between turret and asteroids made that section distinctly unfun. Another odd example for me, and 2/

Day 19: Worst Mini Game

Yep, missed this yesterday. My bad. Generally any part of a video game where there is a sudden shift - a platforming section in what otherwise is a FPS; a stealth section in a non stealth game (particularly if you are in a vehicle); an example 1/

Day 17: Favourite Cinematic

In Game - I'm going to go with the opening to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. It sets the scene perfectly for what I'm sure is many people's first visit to Nosgoth. And Ozar Midrashim is a masterpiece of a music track 1/

So, no spoilers on this one (other than every time a game is mentioned, it spoils that there is a plot twist ...)

But I'm going to go with Braid

Day 15 - Overrated Game

Okays, this one is tricky as it's a very much subjective and could change. However, if I had to pin down to one game for the purposes of a post, I'm going to pick Resident Evil 7. I'm a fan of the series right back to the beginning but 1/
