Described me, but with having a crisis and deciding it was time to go find that gender therapist finally.

Yeah, anybody who says that capitalism leads to more freedom doesn't seem to understand how much power that market forces, oligarch personal tastes, etc dictate what happens.

Everyone in America could want a thing, but if the oligarchs want the opposite, we are told to eat the slop and be happy

Conspiracy brain tells me that the government has info we don't have on peak oil and Trump and company want Venezuela as a puppet stain to suck it dry so the US fields can be kept in reserve while keeping American petrostate solvent for another 30 years.

People of Venezuela get a pittance
November 25, 2025 at 4:57 PM
Easy to understand. It wasnt for you, it's because touchscreens are cheap and American consumers still think of them as "Premium".

Manufacturer only needs one mold for the dash, one line, one supplier. And often the infotainment system plugs in one place to the canbus.

The Hilux Drone, the ultimate UGV for militaries on a budget
November 25, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Pretty much made it so you can't release anything interesting hardware at all unless you patent it out the wazoo and setup something like FRAND and exceptions for CC/NC indie use.

Its infuriating. Its why I don't release WIP for projects I want to commercialize now

Your 22 model probably had adaptive lighting turned on. More vehicles with it in the road the better.
November 25, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Considering the average age for cars on the road is over 14 years now, it won't be until 2035 until half the cars on the road have the tech to not blind folks.

Euros started implementing this tech in 2004. Old Citroens had a primitive version in 1967!

This is downright embarrassing.
November 25, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Its funny that in the rest of the world they solved the problem with HID and laser based lights by having variable brightness sensors.

But NHTS didn't start allowing them at all until 2022, and a lot of new models still don't have them.
November 25, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Only stuff from that era that still gets used from then would be Manual Lathes and Mills.

Turns out, fancy alloys don't make them better, and big dumb cast iron structures with AC motors is still effective.

I do wonder what happens when the day computers hit a similar plateau.

All desert open ground commercial farming should stop at this point. That water is more useful in recirculating hydroponic systems.

Also would stop the problems we have fertilizer depletion, nutrient blooms killing the ocean, and labor issues from farms relying on baking immigrant labor.

Read through the thread.
Explains why the STM and RP families have exploded on the market and are nicer to work with. Easier to do real low level programming.

Its still a shame what Qualcomm is doing, just like what Oracle did to Java back in the day.

Also not paying voice actors, which I think is their real big goal
November 21, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Yeah, going to be crappy textures, crappy models that have no design consistency, and scripts and NPC dialogue that are just fluff and not charming
November 21, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Folks don't realize that consoles are subsidized and a loss leader, and that Valve isn't going to subsidize their set top box.

Especially since I saw a lot of pics of it being used as a desktop replacement.
November 21, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I would need power approaching 1000km before I could justify that, due to lack of charge infrastructure.

Like if I buy a motorcycle that is electric, have to make sure to get ones that can have removable batteries and haul them all the way upstairs right now like a bicycle battery
November 21, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Yeah, it's a big blindspot I'm not surprised to see because alot of developers of electric car tech and infrastructure planners have a bias to folks who own their home and don't have restrictive HOAs nor infrastructure constraints.

Also a general blindness to stuff that isn't rich suburbs

I thought Shadow of Mordor had a neat thing with the nemesis system that would change up tactics, escalate an enemy in the Orc heirarchy, etc

Shame Warner Brothers decided it didn't want its game studio to do cool stuff that players find engaging. Just shareholder value

Yeah that sounds annoying, did find folks on Reddit that got tablet stuff and other things working in this thread

Laws that mandate apartments and condos need to have charge infrastructure before electric takes off.

PopOs works great with most hardware I've thrown it at. And proton and stuff just works.

Was playing MechWarrior 5 Clans at high graphics earlier and Baldurs Gate 3.

Proton nary has a problem

Possibly. Using a neural net ti run more sophisticated enemy AIs would get a lot of use and doesn't touch the workflow at all. .
Hopefully that gets the investors interested, and not the insistence on pushing for generative because it lets them not have to pay people to make assets
