The unlawful president of the United States, Trump, is openly trying to take revenge on anyone he claims undermined him with an investigation. He influenced the Department of Justice and the grand juries to indict former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. But look what has happened! A federal judge has dismissed both indictments. Trump would be a silly fool to attempt another investigation in these cases. Bye-bye, Trump!

Trump has the audacity to threaten some of our members of Congress, falsely claiming they have committed sedition. Trump is a liar; they have not. For the president of the United States to call for the hanging and killing of these members of Congress, claiming they have committed “sedition,” is a blatant disregard of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which allows members of the military to disregard orders they know to be unlawful.

Veterans Day honors all veterans who have served our country in wartime and peacetime. Many of those veterans work in federal, state, and local government. The Trump Administration and what he calls the "Big Beautiful Bill" have cut 6,000 veterans' jobs and have cut and eliminated various veterans' services. Several of those programs were directed towards serving homeless veterans. Mr. Trump, is this the way you honor our veterans? Is this the way you celebrate Veterans Day? All of this is going to come back to haunt you, and some of us will be making sure it indeed haunts you.

Let history record that on Tuesday, November 4th, Democrats turned out in record numbers, demonstrated their outrage at Trump and MAGA Republicans, and, as was said by our Leader Hakeem Jeffries, “we have smoked these fools, all across the country!” As is already known, we won governorships, mayorships, state supreme court justice seats, state legislative seats, and even local offices! We are proud, we are patriotic, and we are steadfast in protecting our country from the cruel forces of Trump and his minions and puppets, who have revealed their lack of love and care for the people of this country.

I am so inspired and pleased by the YES vote we received in California for Proposition 50! The enthusiasm we received in support of Proposition 50 speaks well to people’s understanding of why it was essential to respond to the Republicans' gerrymandering to secure five extra seats in Texas. In California, we decided we would not be threatened, disrespected, or run over by Texas Republicans or anyone else, so we did the right thing: we created Prop 50 under the leadership of Gov. Gavin Newsom. When we fight, we can win! Onward in our continuing fight to protect our country from the likes of Trump and MAGA Republicans.

Listen, Trump, what is this business about not paying Federal workers who have been furloughed? In addition to that, you and your replacement for Elon Musk, Russell Vought, are using the shutdown to fire legitimate federal workers. How the hell do you think the country can be run adequately and safely without employees who get up every day and come to work for the American people? Are you out of your mind? Some of these federal workers voted for you, but now they know that you were lying when you said, “Make America Great Again.” What you were really saying is “I will amass power, because I am a wannabe dictator, like my friends, Putin in Russia, and Kim Jong Un in North Korea!”

Today, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43), issued the following statement in response to the Trump Justice Department’s indictment of former FBI Director, James Comey. “The indictment of James Comey is not just another headline. This is a five-alarm fire signaling the collapse of American democracy as we know it. Donald Trump is dragging the United States down the dark and dangerous path toward dictatorship. This indictment is nothing more than payback and retaliation. Let’s be clear about what’s happening: Trump is weaponizing the full force of the federal government to punish his political enemies. When there is no evidence to convict, he manufactures it. When prosecutors refuse to do his bidding by bringing forward baseless charges, he fires them. Just days ago, Trump publicly demanded that the Department of Justice prosecute Comey, declaring that ‘justice must be served, now!’ Just days later, his crooked and spineless Attorney General, Pam Bondi – whose loyalty to Trump runs deeper than her loyalty and allegiance to the oath she took to defend the Constitution – followed his order. We’ve seen this authoritarian playbook before. Including with his attacks against Senator Adam Schiff, but also in Trump’s deranged obsession with New York Attorney General Letitia James, which has led him on a sociopathic pursuit to fabricate charges against her and throw her in prison. When the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia declined to bring these baseless claims forward against her and Comey, Trump fired him. There are no ifs, ands, or buts – let’s call it what it is: Donald Trump is an authoritarian. He is systematically transforming government into a tool for personal and political revenge on his enemies. Any one of us who opposes him is a target and could be next. I am outraged that Trump's Department of Labor plans to suspend operations at Job Corps centers nationwide. This vital program provides low-income students ages 16-24 with housing, education, career training & employment assistance. I’ll keep fighting to protect Job Corps!
