And that's probably good enough since the Crowthulhu character sheet is the same as the base game with the Fear track that I could just write on there manually

I may mess with this soon and mix it in with The Adventure Crafter. It may be a fun alternative or backup if I don't have TAC with me. @tanapigeonwmg.bsky.social I wonder if you've toyed with this kind of idea before. I suppose it would only work for games with traditional skill systems

Say I roll Stealth, Fast Talk, Craft, Listen, and Climb. These are less detailed than plot points but more evocative and usable to me than the usual tables of single-word descriptors. I think because by their nature they're action-oriented and directly suggestive of mechanics and character abilities

Say I pick 20 skills to be important and break them into five weighted groups: 1-6, 7-11, 12-15, 16-18, 19-20. Each group has four skills. To build a scene, roll D20 + D4 five times to pick five skills. Now build a scene from them. The skills could determine themes or actual skill checks to be done

The Adventure Crafter is criminally underrated. There are a million oracles and GM emulators out there, but I've not really found anything else like TAC. And I've looked!

It could be an interesting secondary resolution system. E.g. if I hear guards coming and react by hiding, did I "create a plan" to hide, or is it just a stealth check? Stealthy PCs probably want the stealth check. Others may want to meta-roll to use a different skill. I dunno. Fun to think about
