Unfortunately Colwood did not install bike specific lights at this intersection. you just go on the pedestrian signal, there is also a countdown timer.
All motor traffic must stop when goose traffic gets a crossing light, motor traffic gets a red light in all directions.

yes, the lights specifically for bikes are the same as regular lights, in that you stop on red, go on green etc.

Sure enough as soon as the cyclist waiting at the light ahead of me got the "walk" symbol to cross, the driver cut in front of me, on a red light. you can hear me brake and I swerve left to miss him. I'm sure he had no idea I was even there...
anyways that's it!

A guy on a bike had already hit the button to cross, and as I approached I saw a car had stopped on his red light, I felt like he was going to cut me off, so as I'm approaching I get my phone out of my handlebar bag, turn on the camera, switch to video mode and start recording....

After many months they finally made it "no right turn on red" so that drivers don't cut people off using the goose.
well I see plenty of drivers still running the red light, I had that feeling as I approached the intersection.

The tender has been awarded.
I have seen the preliminary geotechnical drilling and coring take place.
I understand that it needs to be completed before the end of 2026, in order to receive the grant funding for the project.
It's going to be 4 metres wide. (same as the switch bridge)
That's about it.
