The silly photo is from this effective-team-of-two's award ceremony for ourselves. The company leadership sent us some lame PDF certificates for doing a "🎖️ Great Job" which we printed out and awarded to each other. I recall we spent all day joking around and posing for LOLs, so proud of ourselves.

#tbt In 2010, Dumi and I worked on a Gas field manager app. Behind us is the printout that proved to product stakeholders that this SINGLE critical tree menu needed a redesign. Our strategy needed no research: Just 18m of paper, a stopwatch (17 min scroll to the bottom), and a pair of eyes #LeanUX

Instead, count interaction costs (= mental load * physical effort).

Did we enable the user outcome with content and interactions, WITHOUT sucking their energy? Removing clicks achieves NOTHING if we replace them with confusion.
BJ Fogg’s Behaviour model that graphs user abilities (theirs and those you’ve provided) against motivations, and the success probability of interaction prompts.
