It got to the point my husband and I laughed whenever it happened. Kind of an incredulous “again with the stairs??” And we didn’t even get to see the grandma fall down the stairs. Just saw her taken away on a stretcher and when the priest sees it on his way in and asks, it was those damn stairs! lol

Omg I have that book and read it too! And I agree. It’s so much creepier in the book.
