Don't get your hopes up for this, it would require significant reworks as the texture atlasses for light, medium, and heavy characters are laid out differently.

They've mentioned that you will be able to link Steam GW1 accounts to Steam GW2 accounts. But not Anet GW1 accounts to Steam GW2 accounts, or Steam GW1 accounts to Anet GW2 accounts.
