I forgot to add that this method may causes a clear, visible lining where the mesh separates. To make sure this works proper, just turn off the "Show Overlay". If it doesn't show the lining, then you're good! It won't show any either in-game!

Sometimes you can still keep the compatibility, but w/ little bit more work!

1. Merge the mesh (remember where the seams!)
2. Merge By Distances the seams
3. Switch to Edge Mode
4. Shift+V, Rip The Vertices
5. Switch back to Vertices
6. Re-separate Mesh
7. Delete Shape Keys that has no uses
