Just offering you another perspective. Your friends with dozens of third party apps are overcomplicating things. as someone who has been using all platforms for almost 30 years there’s a reason my primary work machine is a Mac. We use computers for different reasons though. Avoid overgeneralization

I’m a power user (I make iOS and android apps and server software and produce music and video) and all I have installed are the programs I need to create those things. It’s impossible to be as productive as I am on either windows or Linux; which I also use for various purposes.

macOS is Unix/bsd based and generally makes a lot of sense. The spotlight search tool is just really bad and has a lot of well known quirks that for some reason haven’t been fixed yet. Windows file search is also horrible and I use “everything” app for search. On macOS you can just use “locate”

I’ve been a die hard Firefox fan since I was a teen. I just got a new computer and I won’t installing it this time. They’ve lost focus on delivering a modern browser and more and more sites don’t work as development and web standard compliance falls behind. Now they can’t even keep their ethics

Lots of people are saying it. Massive on the ground protests are not going to work this time, they will only lead to less freedom for the American people. It's time for a general strike. I worry that with Elon in charge, this could mean all Democrats and left leaning losing access to their money

Democrats have been saying "you just have to go vote" for a decade now while actively destroying any and all chances for that to make a difference (hillary, bernie, no primary kamala, purity test voting, etc. etc.) And it's only getting worse and worse. I'm not sure how you see a solution there.

Last year Trump said “you won’t have to vote again”. They are currently gutting the fed and setting up for a fire sale of public assets to private capital. Project 2025 has expressed its desire for large scale protests so they can impose martial law.
