I am pissed. Or sad. Annoyed. Well it is going down to 9°F where I am (≈ -13C) by the time I'll be waking up tomorrow. Last night, I got to have this in the room I'm in. (At an elderly friend's place, but they're not taking as good care of it as their parent did).

If you own a truck like this F-250, you damn well better be using it like this EVERY DAY.
A grey Ford F-250 has a customized flatbed and a hitch with a stock watering tank that is parked in front of a red shed in the snow under a night sky because it is winter and the farmer works long hours. This is a work truck doing work...what trucks are intended to do.

This week, while trying to understand why the American middle class feels poorer each year despite healthy GDP growth and low unemployment, I came across a sentence buried in a research paper: “The U.S. poverty line is calculated as three times the cost of a minimum food diet in 1963, adjusted for inflation.”

Senator Mark Kelly @SenMarkKelly When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

Last year's was great! It is a beautiful space and I got so much good reading and art. I also volunteered and here's shots of the space while people were setting up, just before it opened.

Good morning 🌄

I got an entire flat of grape tomatoes from my CSA veggie pickup this week (an extra that's available when harvest is extra bountiful) and ran my punt tabletop dehydrator non-stop since Wed morning. All done now.
