Holdovers felt the squeeze this weekend. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 dropped 69% to $19.5M, while Wicked: For Good slid 51% to $8.6M. Dhurandhar surged 77% to $3.5M, the rare week-over-week gainer, as Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution continued to fade.

The only new wide release, Ella McCay, entered the chart with $2.1M, landing just inside the top seven in a quieter debut frame.

Zootopia 2 slid 57% to $43M, while Wicked: For Good dropped 73% to $16.75M in its third frame as holiday competition heats up. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t fell 49% to $3.50M, and Eternity eased just 14% to $2.73M, the softest drop in the top 7.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 slices into December with a massive $63M debut. One of the biggest horror openings of the year. Anime also showed up big as Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution opened to $10.16M, and Tarantino fans packed theaters for The Whole Bloody Affair at $3.25M.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t ($9.1M, -57%) and Predator: Badlands ($6.3M, -51%) held the top spots among returning titles.

Wicked: For Good soared to a massive $150M debut. One of the year’s biggest openings and a huge start for Universal ahead of Thanksgiving. Rental Family ($3.3M) and Sisu: Road to Revenge ($2.6M) also opened this week with smaller but steady returns.

Predator: Badlands ($13M, -68%) took a sharp drop after its huge opening, while Regretting You ($4M) and The Black Phone 2 ($2.6M) held more modestly. Keeper ($2.5M) debuted quietly to close out the top seven.

A one-two punch this weekend: Now You See Me: Now You Don’t ($21.3M) led the box office, followed by The Running Man ($17M). Both sequels leaned on name recognition and delivered healthy debuts ahead of the holiday stretch.

Regretting You ($7.1M, -9%) continues to hold steady, while The Black Phone 2 ($5.3M) and Chainsaw Man ($3.6M) dropped around 35–40% in their third weekends. Strong variety across genres heading into Thanksgiving season.

Predator: Badlands exploded to $40M, easily claiming #1 and delivering one of the fall’s biggest debuts. Newcomers Sarah’s Oil ($4.5M) and Nuremberg ($4.1M) found modest traction in limited releases.

The Black Phone 2 fell 53% to $12.9M but held well for a horror sequel. Tron: Ares ($4.9M) and Good Fortune ($3.1M) continued moderate runs, while Shelby Oaks ($2.4M) entered quietly to close out the top seven.

Halloween weekend kicked off with Chainsaw Man ($18M) slashing its way to #1. Regretting You ($13.7M) and Deliver Me From Nowhere ($8.9M) rounded out a strong set of new releases across horror, drama, and music genres.

Utilities (-0.2%) and Consumer Staples (-0.7%) lagged behind as investors rotated toward growth and cyclicals. The gap between defensive and high-growth names continues to widen heading into earnings season.

Strong week for equities with Tech (+2.7%), Industrials (+2.2%), and Health Care (+2.2%) leading the way. Energy (+2.5%) also rebounded after a slow start to the month, showing resilience despite oil volatility.

The Conjuring: Last Rites held better than expected at $6.8M, while The Strangers: Chapter 2 debuted at $5.8M for Lionsgate. Him plunged -72.8% to $3.6M, and The Long Walk rounded out the top seven with $3.3M.
