Avatar: Fire and Ash absolutely dominates the pre-Christmas box office with a massive $88M debut, lapping the field in its opening weekend.
Strong support behind it as David ($22.0M), The Housemaid ($19.0M), and The SpongeBob Movie ($16.0M) all debuted solidly in a crowded release frame.

Holdovers felt the squeeze this weekend. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 dropped 69% to $19.5M, while Wicked: For Good slid 51% to $8.6M. Dhurandhar surged 77% to $3.5M, the rare week-over-week gainer, as Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution continued to fade.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 slices into December with a massive $63M debut. One of the biggest horror openings of the year. Anime also showed up big as Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution opened to $10.16M, and Tarantino fans packed theaters for The Whole Bloody Affair at $3.25M.
