I'm trying to build a sensational record collection almost entirely through charity shops and car boot sales. See how I'm getting on.
Special mention for Frank Sinatra's Watertown.

Number 1 - Seed of Memory by Terry Reid. By some distance my most played album of the year. Just beautiful in every way and I'm so glad to own it. RIP, Terry.

Number 2 - Even Serpents Shine by The Only Ones. This one blew me away. No big hits like 'Another Planet', but immense songs that lean into post punk more, except with the addition of some guitar shredding!

Number 3 - If You Saw Thro My Eyes by Ian Matthews. This chap seems somewhat underrated and overlooked but this is one beautiful, consistent album. And with a lovely Vertigo swirl. #vinylcommunity

Number 4 - I've Got The Music In Me by Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker. Just the most astonishing sound I've heard on any media. Some of the best session musicians of the 70s playing live in your living room. #vinylcommunity

Since nobody asked, here's my top 5 records acquired during 2025: Number 5 - Fools Meeting by Carol Grimes & Delivery. Like a UK Jefferson Airplane, but one that kick-started the Canterbury Scene.

Slowly realising I have a problem when I can't leave things like this behind in the charity shop. #vinylcommunity

Oh blimey. 'Pink Orange Red' might be the most gorgeous song I've ever heard. #vinylcommunity

Funkier than normal stuff in the chazza today. #vinylcommunity

Been a while since I've had a chazza pickup. Criminal sleeve redesign, but record looks unplayed. Not Nina's signature unfortunately. #vinylcommunity

Such a great album. Sadly, this repress sounds like it was mastered using a piezo mic on a wall while the original played next door. Awful. #vinylcommunity

And actually think the record is unplayed.

Such a cool sleeve! #vinylcommunity

My occasional step into jazz, spurred on by this chazza pickup today. #vinylcommunity #jazzsky

Perfect season to listen to this. Achingly beautiful folk from these two who are completely new to me. Love discovering new gems. #vinylcommunity

I don't often see bargains on Facebook Marketplace, let alone get to them first. Looking forward to listening to this rare FB win! #vinylcommunity

George at his 80s best. I imagine it would have been from Woolies in Alton, Hampshire. Still have the record, of course.

The chazza at the end of my road is on one today. It rarely has any good stuff in, but when it does... #vinylcommunity

Branching out with a couple of chazza CDs for a change. 25p each!

Mixture of car boot and chazza #weekendsingles

A whopping £10 spend at the car boot but I think worth every penny. Really don't see many of these around despite it being a massive album. #vinylcommunity

I can even live with the unnecessary apostrophe for a song this good. #vinylcommunity

Late season car boots are the way to go. Was sifting through some 7s and the stall holder plonked some LPs next to me. This is the pick of them! #vinylcommunity

House to myself this evening and God these sound good! #vinylcommunity
