To do this, mass campaigns for the demands Zohran has raised must be a launch point for independent class organization, which can only be done with a strong, democratic DSA that can build up labor and tenant power to fight for and defend these wins.

In some sense the Russian revolutionaries carried out a “rank and file strategy”, with early intellectuals and college grads orientating to blue collar workplaces.

But this strategy was less about grads taking factory jobs, and more about recruiting organic worker leaders.

Also for context it was interestingly not the UBI from my Andrew Yang days that motivated me to become a socialist. It was engaging in voting reform but later realizing the problems of our democracy go much deeper and are much more systemic, and that capitalism is not so compatible with democracy.

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.
