Back in Atlantic Canada we use pop for any carbonated sweet drink and then specify what flavour. Like if you don't care if it's coke, Pepsi or whatever you'd ask for cola but people usually have a preference so will ask for coke and will usually get back "is Pepsi ok?" and go from there.
