A one-man studio dedicated to creating games inspired by the freedom of TTRPGs and the depth of mythology.
I'm reading a Young Adult folk-horror book, and it includes a lot of interludes, small diegetic stories that the main heroine hears, reads about or remembers. They make the world bigger and creepier, establish paranormal encounters as something not uncommon, the barrier to chthonic world being loose

There are different styles of play in TTRPGs. One of them is deemphasizing dice rolls as part of conflict resolution. In OSR-like play you are supposed to use the game environment to achieve your goal, and the referee is supposed to simply allow you to succeed if your solution makes sense in-world.

Another thing I love about dice rolling in RPGs is that every time you roll you are reminded about many ways your choices shape not only the narrative, but your role, your character.
E.g., by adding your stats as the modificator. They reflect the way you want to act in this play world, or to be.

One of my proudest accolades is being Nominated for "RPG of the Year" by D.I.C.E. and... it's happened again! 😅

Really appreciate the recognition for Citizen Sleeper 2 in a genre I care so deeply about pushing forward!

Dice rolls in RPGs are fun because they provide a risk of failure. In itself it gives the play an inherit cycle of tension and release.
Basically, each roll in the game is a micro-catharsis, I find each roll to be an aesthetic experience as much as mechanical.

Steam reminded me that the game I played the most this year is Aegis Defenders, 2018 puzzle-platformer/tower defense hybrid. Looking back, while gameplay was solid, I coudn't really remember why I spent almost 19 hours in it. It was not *that* fun. But then I opened the Steam page, and it made sense

I'm not sure if this is a controversial opinion, but I actually do enjoy generic fantasy settings. I don't need a fancy magic system, mind-boggling biomes or never-seen-before species.
Give me my elves and dwarves, they've done nothing wrong.

One of my favorite moments from one of my favorite games
"Hi Robot"-Mina

Some Citizen Sleeper fanart done as a keyframe. One of the small vignettes that got to me and I just want to illustrate it while practicing a workflow.

Currently playing and enjoying Satellite Reign. It's a real-time tactical stealth heist game in a neon-lit cyberpunk city. It's very open, giving player a lot of tools and opportunities to use them, like a sandbox. In this regard it feels like an immersive sim. Love the feeling of mastering systems

Another perfect winter thing for me is Wolf's Rain anime. Perfectly melancholic, slow and distant in its presentation and themes. If you're in the mood for something bleak yet beautiful, check it. In these apocalyptically loud times it reminds me of a cold comfort after the end

I would say that my favorite Christmas/Winter videogame is Banner Saga. There's just something so fitting to the season in its slowly decaying snow-covered world and its distant presentation accompanied by the soul-crushing score…
