On Friday, over 100 Indigenous protesters block the entrance to COP 30 in Brazil. While the earth is on literal fire, world leaders continue to pay lip service to the need for Indigenous sovereignty & self determination to combat climate chaos.
COP30 has big plans to save the rainforest. Indigenous activists say it's not enough.

It took a year of intensive therapy to be able to do things like drive & read after my last COVID infection. I’m terrified of getting COVID again & still mask. In the backlash to COVID public health mandates and public protests, places are criminalizing mask-wearing.

When I was a lonely Native on the east coast I tried 2 find Cherokees where I lived. I googled Baltimore Cherokee. The results were Jeep dealerships. Jeep stopped using Cherokee after a request frm the tribe post-2020. It's popular to be racist again & the Jeep Cherokee is back.

One of the hidden impacts of the shutdown is on schools on reservations. Most school districts rely on local taxes, but schools on federal land, like reservations or military bases, rely on federal funding.
