Kids are dying from flu. 199 in 23-24. Because of declining vaccination rates. It doesn’t have to be this way. www.cdc.gov/flu/whats-ne...

At conference learning that the vast majority of parents choose to vaccinate their children. 80% of Americans took at least one dose of COVID vax, and now adults don’t get as vaccinated as before.

I stopped by the #ButlerHospital #SEIU1199 strike today, and saw this fun painted toy. It's day 92 of the strike. The workers are fighting (and waiting) for fair wages and safe working conditions. I'm told they are close, but also I know the hospital is closing units. #1U

Here is the comment I made to HHS today regarding the redefinition of "public benefit." I am concerned that the expansion of the definition of “public benefit” to new or previously excluded programs will harm my constituents, people across the state and the country....

Sen Urso also opposed to cuts, wants to know what options there might be other than these cuts. Why these routes? What about executive management savings? Wants more transparency. Can ripta operate on a deficit while waiting for solutions from Gov?
July 31, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Rep Cruz talks about how important it is to contact the Gov and leaders to find the $10 m we need for RIPTA. Strong opposition.
July 31, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Randall says politicians chose not to give RIPTA funding they need. Asks ppl to contact their elected officials. Randall was handing this flier out and mentions it in his remarks. Ask for more funding for RIPTA. We should be expanding service not talking about cutting it.

Walter from the Union representing RIPTA folks wants Governor to listen up the hardship these cuts will cause. If he’s not going to come to the hearings he can watch the videos. www.ripta.com/publichearin...
July 31, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Oy, we will get temporary service disruptions too, while they work on cutting service. I hate this.
July 31, 2025 at 9:26 PM
I’m at the hearing in Pawtucket about the draconian proposed cuts to RIPTA. The Gov provided no funding, the General Assembly added only half back in, and now 70? people are at a public hearing listening to how we are about to make important public infrastructure worse on purpose. #saveRIPTA

I don’t take @ripta.com every day, but I rely on it. This week, here’s the bus that got me home at 6:07 pm after I got off the train about 15 min earlier. With the proposed changes, I might have to wait up to 30 minutes for a bus home…. 1/2
