That's not how sexuality works. There are plenty of people who had PBs who aren't asexual.

Because you aren't going to get an unbiased sample.

I have my own concerns about this study, but if those on the GC side don't believe the evidence is there to know which kids will benefit from PBs and HRT why would you oppose a study which aims to find out which ones will and won't benefit?
November 25, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Why only adults? My dysphoria was no less strong when I was under 18. I had been suffering my entire life what exactly would waiting even more time have done for me? PBs and HRT would have saved me a lot of painful and expensive operations.

I came out when I was at school, started coming out when I was 15 and had fully socially transitioned when I was 17. I had been trying to grapple with feelings of Dysphoria my entire life. I remember even in preschool struggling with it.

I was a trans kid, we are real.

Trans people come in all different sexualities. I am a trans woman attracted to men and some non-binary people, I would call myself straight.

My sexuality is entirely different from my gender and I discovered what my sexuality was at a different time to my Gender.
November 25, 2025 at 10:22 AM
Gender Dysphoria has nothing to do with someone's sexuality. Not sure how this is relevant here.
November 25, 2025 at 9:44 AM
That's not what being trans is. Being trans isn't about stereotypes, it's caused by Gender Dysphoria (a medical condition) entirely separate from gender non-conformity

Medical conditions require medical treatment.

I'm not sure I agree sorry! Especially as she has welcomed the review:

"However, given that there are clinicians, children and families who believe passionately in the beneficial effects, a trial was the only way forward to make sense of this."

New puberty blockers clinical trial to begin after UK ban
Those taking part in the study will be children under 16 who are going through puberty.

I suspect you're right, I am forever the optimist.

Despite everything there's still something in me that hopes people can find their humanity in all this. It seems so cruel to so few.
November 23, 2025 at 8:49 PM
But I do hope this gives trans kids some hope for their future. I know how alone it can be to struggle with Dysphoria through your childhood.

I am glad that the trial is happening, but I am concerned about some of its parameters and requirements.

This also shouldn't be necessary at all given how beneficial we *already* know this medicine to be.
November 23, 2025 at 7:29 PM
I know how beneficial being able to start HRT at 18. My puberty hadn't fully finished yet which has saved me a lot of expensive surgery.

But even then, had I started Puberty Blockers and HRT at the start of my puberty I would be in an event better place now.
November 23, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Well, it's probably because the study will find, shockingly, that Puberty Blockers and then HRT I'd massively beneficial for trans kids mental health and wellbeing.

They won't be able to keep claiming the evidence is on their side when even by Cass standards it isn't.
November 23, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Well, despite the Cass review calling for a study like the one now being conducted by the NHS they instead think one shouldn't happen.

What happened to following the evidence?

What are they so afraid of that a study like this could show?
