I read last year or 2023? that China's provinces felt the need to attract new biz to counter their weakened real estate revenue. The biz which responded most quickly were PV-related private investments, both, power generation and manufacturing.
So it wasn't an RE strategy but happenstance. Lucky us!

We're at a stage where all angles possible must be tackled. Eliminating methane and nitrous oxide emissions caused by animal agric is a very good way for reducing the warming speed. Reducing that speed keeps us that much further away from near-term extremes &societal impacts and tipping points.
Rapid global phaseout of animal agriculture has the potential to stabilize greenhouse gas levels for 30 years and offset 68 percent of CO2 emissions this century
Animal agriculture contributes significantly to global warming through ongoing emissions of the potent greenhouse gases methane and nitrous oxide, and displacement of biomass carbon on the land used t...

Ha, so effed up...
Does agricultural soil ever recover from acidification once SO2 emissions and acid rain stop?
German forest owners dumped chalk or something on forests to neutralize the soil acid. But I haven't heard anything regarding farmed land. Do H+ and Al+ get removed via harvest cycles?

Is underground mines where China gets the gas for feedstock from? At least, these can theoretically be closed eventually, or so I hope. Like the natural gas wells.
But open pit mines are a gift that keeps on giving CH4 forever, I think.

Used to live & work in NZ for 9 years but am back in Germany 👋

Oh... ha. Thanks!

OMG. ... the implications for "keep it in the ground" are horrible...
also implications for all the surface coal mines... with their methane emissions...
Oh my effin Geezus...

I didn't know this. Thank you. In a naturally gaseous form...

I sometimes dig in trade data and saw an odd-to-me distinction in product descriptions. I'll be able to make more sense of the data now, thanks to your reply.
Can/is either gas be used as feedstock for plastics & fertilizer, do you know?

Are you saying, Scotland did not re-grow an 800m wall of ice when AMOC collapsed – because wind & Gulf Stream didn't also stop?

The ice did re-grow.
And the Northern AMOC collapse, insignificant and weak as you say it is, pushed the mighty strong North Atlantic Subtropical Gyre South.
Facts matter.

Ja.

*Life threatening reicht als qualifizierte Warnung, genaue " unnötig
*Reps, die falsch NWS beschuldigen, sollen die Cuts rückgängig machen, denn die WERDEN Leben kosten. Aber noch nich on July 4

Manchmal können auch 7 Dinge wahr sein:
*dieses Wettersystem war besonders schwierig💻
*NWS war nicht von Trumps Axt beeinflusst
*NWS warnte ab 4Uhr mit "life threatening"
*NOAAs Modell hat top funktioniert, indem es nachts stündlich immer detaillierter und mehr Regen für den Morgen projizierte

If he decides I should get 50 heatwave days in Vienna, he also decides that Medina gets 100 days with "extreme heatstress", ie 31°C wetbulb.
But a mediocre office clerk in Vienna would not think about Medina and that his asshole decision kills real people.

I like the use of 2011-2020 climatology!

Thank you! Altho, I feel very bad imagining some dumb office clerk deciding that I should experience 60 heatwave days in my city, so he can justify his NIMBY tomorrow-not-today-not-me-policy. This tool is a god-sent for those mediocre minds.. climate-risk-dashboard.climateanalytics.org/impacts/avoid

Yet, any overshoot would come with irreversible consequences. You can explore a wide range of climate impacts including on glaciers, biodiversity loss or high resolution urban heat stress on our PROVIDE Climate Dashboard:

Limiting peak warming requires us to see the race to net-zero for what it is - a sprint. The faster we reduce emissions, and the earlier we are at net-zero CO2, the lower peak warming will be.
Importantly, this also requires stringent reductions in non-CO2 greenhouse gases such as methane.

Overshoot is not an alternative strategy to achieve the same climate outcome, but comes with irreversible consequences for humans and ecosystems. We should focus on minimizing near- and long-term climate risks by peaking warming as low as possible and aim for long-term temperature decline.

A loan. Or a guarantee-backup for a loan Ukraine takes from other regions?
If a loan by EU: ridiculous.
Ukraine is fighting our war against assholistic Putler and his Kremlins. OUR war. We must throw everything we have at the sociopaths to eliminate them.
Not make Ukraine a beggar for loans. ffs!

Please do not use URL shorteners.
When people get used to blindly clicking any URL without seeing beforehand where they end up, it opens the door to espionage, malware, ransomeware, disinformation.
Bad for the citizen who clicked. Bad for his company if office computer. Bad for society & democracy
