sidewalks
arrival crisp the crunch of footsteps between the concrete breezeway and the day nearly over the oranges and pinks dapple my face with soon to be meltwater dropped from the whisps of the most gentle of winters openings the last gasp of november hangs upon the wind and floats for just a moment longer we smile at each other as it slowly fades into decembers frozen graces.

finalé my softly spoken suggestion left her furious for being so positively casual as i insinuated that she didnt need me any longer i only said it because well... she didnt i watched with tender resignation as she gathered up all her baubles and trinkets and all those unmomentous lovely things that connected us and slowly walked out the door i smiled through the tears and wondered how my tomorrow would look without her illumination i stood in the now darkend doorway for a long time and watched her light fade in the distance i sighed and closed the door on us.
