I think there’s a world where this is a Last Dance type season for this version of the Padres. New ownership and new front office after this season. I think it’s VERY unlikely but not impossible.

Nobody can guarantee a new owner has no intention of moving the Seidler family is going to do everything they can to make sure it does not happen. Also I would expect the sale to be about 2.7 Billion. I think every person making a serious bid wants full control.

It’s REAL HARD for me to not be pro salary cap after today cause like what the fuck. But also EVERY SINGLE TEAM spending less than Seattle could’ve done this contract without even ending up in the top half of salaries there is no excuse for them not to do SOMETHING.

IMO now is the perfect time for the padres to sign Max Kepler to a 2 year deal worth basically nothing.

Shane Baz being a controversial pitcher even in the nerd community is such a beautiful thing. I think the return was high but controllable SP is similar to having like Drake Maye or Bo Nix in Football.
